your household, by explaining ways that you can reduce the spread of dirt and germs throughout your home.
Keep chickens outdoors
This cleaning reduction tip is based on a personal experience of mine that happened many years ago when I used to work on council house maintenance. I went along to replace a ceramic tile above a kitchen work surface and I was warned that the clients’ property was a touch smelly. Upon arriving at the house on that warm summers afternoon I could detect what smelt like chicken s–t/muck and when I opened the clients back gate I was greeted by chickens and a back garden that was totally covered in well chicken muck. I carefully tip toed towards the back door and when the client opened the door to let me in out popped two or three chickens. The chicken muck was also all over the ground floor of the property. The client went on to explain that the chickens had the run of the downstairs but that they were not aloud upstairs! My stomach was reaching and I could not face doing the job and turned around and left. I did end up getting a rollicking from my boss for refusing to do the job!
