Household cleaning tip No55 gives you advice on cleaning blood stains.
First soak your cleaning cloth in a solution of hydrogen peroxide then gently rub the blood stain. For really difficult blood stains you can also try rubbing a paste of corn flour into the stain and leave it out in the sun.
Hydrogen peroxide is also a much greener choice than bleach in this increasingly green conscious world.
Please note that I have produced these cleaning tips in good faith and has such will take no responsibility for any failure or damage that may be caused or attributed by the use of any of the tips given.

Where can you get hold of hydrogen peroxide - not your average household cleaning solution to be found in the supermarket? Do you use it neat or as a diluted solution? Just wondered because my contact lens cleaner is an hp solution and wondered if it can be used as a cleaning agent.

Hi Clare,
I am no expert on this issue as this tip as been passed on to me, but I have done a little research and if you follow the link provided here http://www.food-grade-hydrogen-peroxide.co.uk/shop/page/1?shop_param= it should give you all the information that you require. Thanks for your input.

Great tips and excellent advice. Haven’t seen many like this so congrats for steppign out.
I’ve always found hydrogen peroxide in the drug store and scrapes cleaning agent so should be readily available. Hope this helps.

When using chemicals such as Hydrogen Peroxide, be careful not to mix with other chemicals, so as to avoid chemical reactions. I knew of a cleaner, who mixed two industrial grade cleaners and produced Hydrochloric Acid in it’s gaseous form. As this was done in a confined space the effects were quite severe. Always read the labels and if you need further advice, most Chemists are able to give this.

Many thanks Phil for your important advice, I can not stress on health & safety grounds enough just how important it is to read the advice provided on labels before using chemicals.

I also knew a cleaner who did that in a small bathroom and ended up in hospital so as you say Phil beware
