Some advice that is tried and tested by myself is; when chased by a dog (a German Shepherd in my case) with teeth showing and a thunderous noise coming from it's voice box; is to run and jump into the pasenger side of a stranger's workvan and tell him there is a fricking dog chasing me. He was quite a nice chap it seemed and reasoned with me when he saw the dog appear around the hedge. Oh and the tip on that advice is make sure the Stranger is not as rough as the dog!!
