The better way is to prevent the dents from wheeled office chairs in the first place.
I use polycarbonate mats that are pimpled on the underside to avoid slip on the carpet ans a hard surface to run the chair on.
They are clear in colour, come in many sizes, available through good commercial stationery suppliers and are great fun as you can move on your chair at great speed!!
